Hello, MDK Family –
It’s certainly been a wild ride since March, hasn’t it? We want to start by thanking everyone who has continued to support us so far. Learning to adapt to online class formats has not been easy for anyone, and we know you’ve all had a lot of other factors weighing on your lives as well.
As of right now, we plan to continue to run classes online for as long as feasible. Trinity Lutheran Church in Runnemede, where we had been running our classes, remains closed to the public. With so much uncertainty surrounding the upcoming school year, we’ve decided that continuing our online format is the best option for now – likely at least through the end of the year.
Effective immediately (the week of August 10, 2020) we will be changing our online class format for children. Instead of running 2 calls on our class days, we will be running ONE group call at 4pm for ALL colored belt students. Call details are in the Google classroom and we will continue to text reminders.
Back in April, we switched to asking our families to contribute on a donation basis, as you feel comfortable doing We are still asking parents and students to contribute and support our classes in that same way. We know things have been rough for everyone, and every little bit helps. We are currently struggling to maintain our basic obligations – including storage and Zoom fees. If you are able, please consider making a donation for your child’s classes via PayPal (we will no longer use any other payment platform, in order to keep the costs of maintaining multiple platforms down).
